Treatment for Acute and Subacute Occupational Injuries
Whatever your occupation or injury is, we understand the burden that persists when injury prevents you from completing your duties at work. When you come to Advanced Training and Rehab, we are committed to listening carefully, evaluating your injury, and working with you to get you back to work quickly.
Our therapists will use the full spectrum of treatments and their creative minds to simulate work-related activities in the clinic. We will help your body heal and recovery properly from an acute or subacute occupational injury. Our goal is to customize your experience to return to work as quickly and safely as possible.
Custom Return-to-Work Rehabilitation
Every job is unique, so your injury recovery should be, too. We will customize every aspect of your treatment plan. From reducing initial inflammation, providing manual therapy to the area, and finally re-strengthening and re-training the injured area in a way that will allow you to perform your tasks effectively and safely once you return to work.
Work Conditioning Programs
Some physicians and employers want their employees to take their time to physically prepare the body to return to work. Our work conditioning physical therapy programs will help increase your flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination, and musculoskeletal function so you are able to complete the work-required tasks you were able to perform prior to your injury.
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)
After a workers’ compensation claim has been filed, it is possible you may be medically ordered to receive a functional capacity evaluation, or FCE. This order may come from your physician, or from the lawyer, employer, or insurance company at some point towards the end of therapy or when deemed necessary. The FCE helps determine what work you are and are not able to safely perform after an injury to help outline your responsibilities when you return to work. Your clinician can perform the FCE and provide a thorough assessment for all necessary parties.
To prevent employees from becoming injured and having to file workers’ compensation claims, some companies may request a pre-employment screening after you’ve been hired. These screenings are customized to the job’s responsibilities to ensure you are physically able to perform the tasks that are regularly necessary. Our therapists are experienced in conducting these screenings safely and accurately so you can rest assured knowing you are prepared for the job.
If you have been injured on the job, your company also may require you to complete a pre-employment screening to ensure you are able to perform tasks safely before you return.
"John C. is the best PT guy in America. I have sent about 50 people there and their reviews are the same. I would not consider any other option. They had me back dramatically quicker than I was supposed to be. I wish I was as good at my job as they are theirs."

“As a coach, I took a great deal of pride in having a positive relationship with my players and staff. From the first time I walked into the Advanced Training and Rehab Kirkwood location, I felt a special positive energy from all the staff members. Doing physical therapy or a work out is never easy, especially when you are recovering from surgery or an injury. A smile, a friendly conversation and positive support make a difficult task seem a much easier to accomplish! After 3 months of physical therapy I highly recommend the TEAM at Advanced Training and Rehab Center. The staff is knowledgeable and cares about each of their clients.”

"ATR is not just a place you go to rehab an injury or recover from surgery. It’s a group of dedicated physical therapists who cares for each patient with personal, knowledgeable and experienced care. When physical rehab is required for me or my family, I request ATR because I trust them explicitly. They have cared for me for over 20 years – shoulder surgery, back surgery, and other weekend warrior injuries. They have cared for my wife and three active and athletic daughters. Brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews use them because of that level of trust and care. You have a choice in your post injury care. Tell your doctor you want to go to Advanced Training and Rehab for your care like I do!"
